Marketers use emails as the least expensive form of marketing channel for targeting prospective customers. But what they don’t understand is that it is also the most powerful channel through which highest conversion rates can be achieved if used correctly. Below are 3 most important email marketing tips which you cannot turn a blind eye.

  • Call-to-action (CTA)

The purpose of most marketing emails is to initiate the customers to  take actions which create an engagement with our business. The CTA can be an enrollment for a simple newsletter subscription; availing of seasonal offers; view product/service updates etc. The CTA links should be placed prominently on the body of email copy, such that the it can be spotted very easily by the recipient. Always try to reduce the number CTA links/ buttons per email so that customer doesn’t get confused by reading the email with  multiple objectives. The CTA should be in sync with the objective of the email campaign.

  • Segmentation Of The Customer Database

Organizing the database according to customer demography, age, gender helps us to personalize the email campaigns and target the prospective customers effectively. Another segmentation is based on behavioral pattern of the customers when visiting our product/service based website.

  • Time Saving Options

Most marketers being busy, it is always better to leverage the email service provider’s (ESP) software program that can automate the email campaigns with a deck of standard email templates. Also synchronizing the customer database with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools using ESP plugins can prove beneficial in automating the campaign.
