We all find ‘Rags to Riches ‘, stories quite interesting. Now we see this quite often in digital space. People become celebrity over night and count of likes become currency for them. Lot of case studies have showcase the power of Google Analytics in transforming the business into Rag to Riches, however this has not happened overnight. It takes lot of time, money and consulting to do right analysis of the consumer’s need. Most of time the entrepreneurs are wrong in judging consumption trend but they learn to be right quickly. Goal setting is the first and foremost brick of building any successful enterprise. Goals should be well defined and reflected in the strategies of the business. There is the possibility that goals may vary from business to business, however, it should be specific , time bound and measurable.

Generally speaking, all on-line businesses have one or more of the goals listed below depend on the nature of the business :-

  • Sales (Conversion rate)
  • Memberships/subscription
  • Traffic time from blogs and comments
  • Call back request
  • Lead generation

The dashboard report by Google Analytics have many tab and all tabs filled with data. There is nothing to worry about the unstructured data. One should filter the data as per his or her business requirement and go granular to have an insight. It is recommended to apply filter on separate copy of Google Analytics data because if something goes wrong, then one should have the flexibility to correct the data from raw file. Choosing right data is very important in taking the right decisions. Therefore, analyst must spend at least 70-80 percent of its time in analysis of data.

 

3) Set email Alert :-

The latest version of Google Analytics provide us the flexibility to set an alert for any fluctuations in the data base. This is the massive revolution that Google Analytics has bring to help analyst’s work . Now analyst can keep himself informed about the below scenarios :-

  • Big fluctuations in traffic (both positive and negative)
  • Large rises and drops in goal conversion rates
  • High bounce rates
  • Changes in Adword spend (for linked accounts)

      The content flow is excellent. Yes, I agree with Indrajit Goswami’s remark about the video. Video is inspiring of course ( I shared it on my facebook timeline!) but not much relevant to the blog topic. In fact, I feel the video deviate reader’s attention from the core topic.

      Overall, it is a nice article with some valid points included.
