Adhish Kumar Mohanty is a B.Tech (Electronics) & MBA (Marketing). He started his career as a programmer for a manufacturing industry (ABB & Siemens Drive System) and worked with the installation with various companies for about 2 years.
Hobbies are apt to run away with us, you know; it doesn’t do to be run away with. Adhish decided to join a B-School to understand the behaviours (In this context – Consumer Behaviour) in a better way (Started few local business in the past – never branded).
With the present market scenarios understand that marketing without technology is like you have a billion dollar in the middle of Pacific Ocean & you don’t know the route to the seashore.

Few of the blogs I personally follow: Avinash Kaushik (Google Analytics), The Moz (SEO), access to a lot of resources including eBooks and whitepapers for the content strategy.
Which are your favorite 3 digital media channels (e.g. Twitter, Google etc) and why?
Adhish: To my understanding in the day to day interaction we all are surrounded by digital activities, starting from your Email in the morning to social media in the night we are gain knowledge from various means.
Google plays a vital role as it’s an immense source of knowledge & the recent optimization by google to show better & relevant search to the reader improve the credentials.

What is your advice to newbies who want to build career in digital marketing?
Adhish: Today the market is driven my technology. As an old saying that the engine of any company is the sale & marketing but to my understanding it’s already replaced by Digital Marketing (Lead Nurture is a part).
Learn things and try implementing as a company prefer candidates with practical exposure. Stay tuned & updated, follow Digital Marketing blogs and learn avenues of Digital Marketing for good Career prospects.
What are the challenges a person is likely to face when s/he enters into Digital Marketing industry? How can s/he overcome those?
Adhish: No such challenge to enter the Digital marketing industry. It is a myth that someone needs to be from a technical background to understand digital marketing. The only prerequisite to my understanding is the affinity to learn the present trend.
For someone who’s looking at full time or part time job or an internship in Digital Marketing, what approach would you advice?
Adhish: I will recommend to enroll with some institutions to understand the basics of DM. Start relating your job with the digital stuff & can enter into the profile with proper expertise.
Digital media especially Social media channels such as Facebook can eat up a lot of your productive time if not used wisely. Do you agree? What all can one do to efficiently leverage these channels for personal growth?
Adhish: Yes, it is highly essential to plan & optimize the activity with the proper use of tools for social media. Facebook can be very productive for the business if used wisely. A lot of tools are available in the market which can be very helpful in the optimization of activity & improve the productivity.
If you were given a chance to rebuild your career, what changes you would have made to have even better growth and fulfillment?
Adhish: I have already taken the right decision by completing the CDMM course. It helps me to understand the activities in a better & structured way.
How do you see Digital Media evolving in future?
Adhish: All the companies understand the impact & importance of technology in the business. Digital Marketing is already integral part of the business meetings. Promising future for individual with digital marketing experience.
