Sangram Tawade is a sales and marketing professional with over 6 years of experience in B2B and B2C sales. His primary experience is in business development but he has taken on numerous marketing promotions and research assignments with the companies he has worked with as well. In July this year, Sangram landed a job with a Digital Marketing agency and started his career in this field.
Which course of Digital Vidya you participated in? How did it help you acquire new skills related to digital marketing?
Sangram: I participated in the Certified Digital Marketing Master (CDMM) Course. I already had a bit of knowledge about SEM and this course helped gain more insights into it was well as understanding the rest of the modules.

Sangram: I follow a number of blogs to keep myself updated with the rapidly evolving digital world. I follow HubSpot, Neil Patel, KISSMetrics, Search Engine Land, Wordstream, PPC Hero and of course keep checking Digital Vidya, regularly.
Which are your favourite 3 digital media channels (e.g. Twitter, Google etc) and why?
Sangram: I have always been fascinated by Google AdWords. The free hand I have at experimenting with my campaigns to help me continuously deliver better results is something I like about it. SEO helps me understand my consumers behaviour and help me deliver a better message. Facebook Ads are also something I have started developing an interest in as that is something that is opening up a new bunch of leads.
Which are your 3 favourite Digital Marketing Tools?
Sangram: AdWords editor makes your life so much simpler. It’s an extremely easy to use software that helps you get most of your SEM tasks done in no time.
Google Keyword planner is the obvious go to tool for any SEM or SEO professional for keyword research.
Google Trends help you keep up with changes in seasonal demands and trends.

What is your advice to newbies who want to build career in Digital Marketing?
Sangram: Read a lot. Keep yourself updated with what is going on. The landscape keeps changing rapidly and the more knowledge you have the better. Ask a lot of questions to your seniors or experts or whoever you wish to, no matter how dumb they may sound as this is the time for you to gain as much knowledge as possible to help your decision making in the future.
What are the challenges a person is likely to face when s/he enters into Digital Marketing industry? How can s/he overcome those?
Sangram: The Digital Marketing world keeps on changing rapidly. You must keep yourself updated of the changes continuously. There are so many blogs and websites out there that you can learn from. All you need to show is a little bit of interest in understanding what is happening in this Digital World and you will be alright.
For someone who’s looking at full time or part time job or an internship in Digital Marketing, what approach would you advice?
Sangram: If you haven’t already started learning the right time to that is now. There are huge number of blogs or videos out there to get you started. If you have little to no experience in Digital Marketing then start gaining some by undertaking projects or freelance work. The projects and courses you take up for Digital Marketing do go a long way in helping you out with finding the job or internship you are looking for.
If you were given a chance to rebuild your career, what changes you would have made to have even better growth and fulfilment?
Sangram: I would have loved to get into Digital Marketing at the start of or at least earlier in my career.
How do you see Digital Media evolving in future?
Sangram: Our lives are becoming more and more digital and that is just opening up new opportunities to connect with each other. There are a number of technologies that I keep myself updated with but I think Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Digital Wearables are some to look out for.
