Step 3: Arrange data of your Subscribers

Time to arrange all the information related to your subscribers

This step involves lots of manual efforts. The time needed to complete this step depends on how well your existing data is organized.

Suggestions

  • While extracting the users from the contact list of your personal email accounts including Gmail or Yahoo, do make sure that you are importing only those users, who will be receptive of your communication on email.
  • Even if you do not have complete details of the users initially, you can still start with importing email ids with basic information. You can add rest of the information later. Make sure that you have relevant email IDs.
  • If it is above 2000, Mailchimp will switch to the paid account. We recommend that you start with the number under 2000 for the first campaign and increase your contacts in the later stage.
  • You should keep First Name & Second Name in  a separate column. It will help while addressing your contacts in the salutation.

Steps To Follow

  1. Create an Excel File and in the first row write down all the attributes of your contacts (For example: First Name, Email ID, City, Phone, Company, Country, Source, Product, Lead Owner etc.)
  2. Export the contact from all the sources (For example Your CRM, Contact list etc.) and add them in this excel file.
  3. Verify that you have correct information for all contact
    1. 1st letter of First name should be in capital
    2. There should not be any spelling mistake
  4. Export this excel file in CSV Format
