Amit Jain, (Founder of shared about their incredible success in leveraging Search and Social Media added further heat and excitement at the camp. He shared their strategy comprising of almost every weapon of Social Media and Online Marketing – Rediff Pages, Twitter, Youtube, Flickr, Facebook, MySpace, Blogging…. list is ever growing. His message “Keep listening. Keep Improvising Yourself. Continue to believe in yourself”.

See what is possible? – Car Dekho is today India’s most popular auto portal with over 1 million unique visitors/month. Interestingly, the team at Car Dekho accomplished this success in around 30 months without spending even a rupee on advertising.

Community building competition, now what is this?
Community in simple words would be – “By the People, For the People”. An interesting exercise started in Bootcamp to give learning about how to create a community. Now participants were divided into three camps: Delhi Deals, Unexplored India and Khatte Meethe Sach (Facebook communities started earlier by participants of earlier bootcamps by Digital Vidya). Some participants played the role of administrators while others were fans; they had to gradually shift positions, and to work for promoting their community. War was on, participants were strategizing, dividing roles, creating content……suddenly strangers in room had become teams.

Engagement is like fuel without which community cannot move ahead; some factors contributing to engagement are: Breaking News, Humor, Questions, Contests, and Controversy etc.

’How to create strategy for Community Building?’, ‘What kind of content to create for engagement?’, ‘How to promote a community to reach the critical mass?’ were the key learnings for the participants. Other add-ons were Usage of Facebook Apps, Advertising and how to integrate it with website and other online as well offline channels.

Eureka moment for many attendees, many had just created twitter accounts a day before to fulfill requisites of Digital Vidya Bootcamp. Great learning session as initial struggling participants (to understand terms like – hashtags, followers, following, retweets, listed) had transformed into regular tweeters as they started tweeting about key learnings and even tweeted about tea/coffee breaks.

New Trends of Search
A brief introduction about SSO- Social Search Optimization- a new dimension to SEO, was delivered. It is a process of creating profiles on social media channels, to have more visibility of your brand.

LinkedIn – almost every professional has this account, but how often we update it? Business networking, getting recommendations to build credibility, advertisements, sorting out your confusions by answers from Top-notch professionals- everything under one roof!

Most important, participants got present to the opportunity of leveraging LinkedIn as one of the best possible B2B Lead Generation tools. Here again, participants worked on real time on their profiles to experience and taste success on LinkedIn.

“Desire to stay connected” was the key takeaway as mantra for success in using LinkedIn.

Finally time to say Bye!
A brainstorming Q&A session, which answered questions such as ‘How to Measure ROI on Social Media?’ brought clarity and smiles on faces of participants. Instead of exchanging business cards, participants got strongly connected to each other and external world through Social Media…. What can be a better start than this in leveraging Social Media!

In addition to receiving ‘Certificates of Success’, participants got their photographs at the bootcamp available to rest of the world through Social Media (Flickr).

The learning didn’t stop here; the Facebook Community Building Competition continued for a week and was followed up by a Webinar to share learnings and insights including Facebook Advertising. This weeklong exercise gave much needed opportunity for everyone to practice and put the learnings acquired during the bootcamp into action.
