2 Major Benefits Of Search Engine Marketing For Generating More Business For The Company

Rate this post

Search Engine Marketing is an advertising technique on Google or on any of the other search engines like Yahoo etc., where a company’s website would be right on top or somewhere on the top of the search engine result pages, due to the efforts made by the company. With tough economic times, it is very difficult for a business to attract new customers. However with Search Engine Marketing, generating new business has become quite easy. The 2 major benefits of SEM are:

Small Business VS Large Enterprises

In today’s world, if someone is looking for anything, say mobile, TV etc. he would not run from one shop to the other. Instead, he would just go on the internet and search for the product on Google. He just types in mobiles and gets a number of websites telling him about the product. This can be done on his desktop, or ipad or mobile, from anywhere and at any time of the day. Such is the power of the internet in today’s times. Hence internet advertising has gained a lot of importance.

So be it a 2 to 3 people company or a home run business, anyone can compete with big organisations if they practice Search Engine Marketing. Unlike the traditional form of marketing where one had to spend a lot of money for advertising, SEM does not require that much of an amount. In fact one should start small, with a small budget on SEM and then gradually increase the size of the budget after tracking the outcome of the ads. This can all be done while sitting at the office. So instead of spending money on newspaper advertising and hoardings, one should invest in SEM advertising. After the advent of internet this is the most effective form of advertising. A nationwide TV campaign for a small company would be far more expensive and not worth it while, then internet advertising and hence SEM.

Less Time Required

While the old form of advertising involves cold calling, emails, door to door selling etc., to attract new customers, SEM is less time consuming. A Google Adwords expert could alone make and start a campaign on a smaller scale and lesser time than the traditional form of TV advertising. Customers also require lesser time to reach the company’s website for any information. They just open the internet, type the required keywords and then visit your website as per their requirement. They need not walk out on the road and hence see your hoarding. Visibility through SEM is higher. Also the effect of SEM is long lasting. You just need to start the campaign, and then people can see the advertisement on the internet. Even if you stop the campaign for some time, it doesn’t affect your customers as long as you are high up on Google Search Result pages.

To get new customers, one should start SEM now and then continue with it. Try different techniques of SEM so that you remain high up on the network. New customers would flock to you generating more and more business and hence more profits. This should be the ultimate goal of any business. So it is not too late yet, START ON SEM TODAY!

Good narration. I liked. Would like to know, if there is any functional sequence among inbound marketing, SEO and SEM. Can you share some insight?

Good Question Indrajit. Actually there’s no sequence between SEO, SEM and Inbound Marketing. SEO & SEM can be done independently and can be leverage for each other (e.g. one can learn high conversion keywords from SEM campaign and then start targeting the same for SEO).

There are elements of SEO, SEM and even Social Media, which are part of Inbound Marketing. For e.g. leveraging SEO to be able to attract prospects is also a part of Inbound Marketing.

      Does it help?
