Social media marketing is an art of connecting with people. There is a need to be friendly as well as meaningful at the same time, so as to ensure the achievement of the desired results. Every business out there is present on the social media to do this only, but why is it so that only a very few businesses succeed with it? There may be some serious mistakes that you may be committing and that need your immediate attention. Here are the 3 most commonly committed mistakes regarding social media usage.

1. Wasting Time On Different Platforms

As a business, you may think that you need to have a strong presence on as many social media platforms as possible. It is not at all required to be present on all the social media platforms, but to operate efficiently from one or two mediums will do the needful. You should not waste too much of your precious time in social media operations, but must have a clearly laid out plan in front of you before you begin your journey online.

2. Save Your Online Reputation

As a business it is necessary for you to build and maintain professional reputation online. You should take special care to ensure that your professional image is good enough and your audience takes you seriously. If your budget allows, you can hire a professional to do this task for you.

3. Enroll For A Training

If you do not have adequate skills to operate efficiently on social media, then do not shy away from undergoing training for the same that can provide you just the right skills. There is nothing wrong or unreasonable if you invest in training yourself for the task at hand. Firstly know your weaknesses, search for the right course and the institute and enroll yourself immediately since you cannot afford to lose on the gold mine of customers present on social media platforms.

Valuable insights are given here. But I’ve one question. There are many professionals who are on different social media platforms but most of them do not have appropriate technical skills to leverage the maximum out of it. Yes, it may be true that they cannot launch a campaign or advert but they are doing networking. If so, how this could be a waste of time?

Thanks Indrajit for your query. We didn’t mean that one should not spend time on multiple Social Media platforms. The key message is if one doesn’t understand how to leverage Social Media, s/he should probably begin with 1 or few channels before spreading so thin. Hope it makes sense?
