The booming & blooming trend of entrepreneurship is letting India be a nation of startups, especially in digital marketing fraternity. We are witnessing an unprecedented wave of entrepreneurship everywhere, but amidst such wall-to-wall entrepreneurial inclinations; a few questions have also emerged out, like:

  • Can entrepreneurship be learned or one is born with entrepreneurial genes
  • What are the traits that need to case off to be a successful entreprenuer
  • What are the common traits of success entrepreneurs

If you have also been in quest of the answers of such questions, then this is the time to clear all the air as a Chinese Proverb says, ‘The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.’

  • Entrepreneurial Genes are Must or Entrepreneurship can be Learnt

“It’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen”, says Scott Belsky, co-founder of Behance

Was Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates born with entrepreneurial genes? No, cultivation of some specific traits led them to such greatness. Having a great idea is a wonderful thing but without having clarity of vision, it will remain as great idea only.

Without settling of a specific goal, you cannot explain your perceptions to related people. Organized learning on entrepreneurship can lead you to have an ability to recognize and analyze an opportunity. Training in entrepreneurship will aid you in defining and crystallizing your goals, and it will act as a value addition, which will help in the long run of your venture.

So, personally, I do not abide with the idea that one is born with an entrepreneurial DNA. Yes, it is true that you cannot teach anyone to leave his or her comfortable jobs and dive head into tough world of entrepreneurship, but that is not enough to be a successful entrepreneur.  I understand that impulse comes from inside, but, to be a successful entrepreneur learning is must. Through learning, you can get the ability to preempt obstacles, scale challenges, survive in toughest of cases and can successfully take the risks.

Nowadays, different platforms are also available where budding and aspiring entrepreneurs can get lessons that will aid them in aptly channelizing their idea into a successful business model.
