The transition phase of internet has been extremely dynamic. The year that passed by reflected that the dependency on internet in terms of search volumes increased to a great extent. The scenario of internet in 2014, the year gone by majorly focused on the Google searches. Having said that, following were the global trending searches reflected:

Besides this, it is application systems of ‘apps’ as they are most widely addressed to are something for which the users heavily rely on the internet. Enumerated below is the list of most searched apps:

Furthermore, the things that went viral were not only confined to searches but something mesmerizingly interesting was ‘Google Year in Search’:

Talking about the Google Year in Search’ concept, the head of Google’s Core Ranking team, Amit Singhal stated that “On our Year in Search site, you can take an in-depth look at the stories that made 2014 unforgettable. From the rise of the selfie, to understanding if we search for ‘how’ more than ‘why,’ each chapter shares a glimpse into the people and events that drove this year forward.”

Moving on further, let us have a look at what all happened in the developing economy, India.  According to the ‘Internet in India 2014’ report published by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), it has been laid down that it took a decade to reach 100 million internet users from 10 million. While in a time span of three years, the number of internet users reached from 100 million to 200 million. Not only this, the number of internet users in India will reach from 200 million to 300 million, the report declared. Over all it can be stated that India has registered a colossal amount of growth in terms of the internet users, which is laudable.

The ‘Mobile Internet in India 2014’ report released on Tuesday said there were 173 million mobile internet users in India in December 2014.

Moreover, the latest news declares that mobile internet users in India will reach to 213 million by June 2015. This is what is expected in the mobile internet domain in India.
