Sakshi Jain is a student currently pursuing MBA. She thinks digital marketing is the need of the hour and in coming years it has a tremendous scope as people are becoming internet savvy. She has done her major in marketing but because of growing demand for internet, the whole idea of marketing has changed and therefore it is important to study digital marketing.
Sakshi personally doesn’t think that one has to belong to an IT background to know digital marketing. It’s all a myth.
Which course of Digital Vidya did you participate in? How did it help you acquire new skills related to digital marketing?
Sakshi: I participated in Certified Digital Marketing Master (CDMM 2.0) Course offered by Digital Vidya. This course is perfect for a beginner like me who had knowledge about Digital Marketing prior joining the course. It provides me an in-depth knowledge about many aspects of digital marketing like SEO, SMM, Inbound Marketing, Email Marketing, etc. Digital Vidya also provides special sessions which I think is a great added advantage.
Why did you choose Digital Vidya’s course?
Sakshi: I live in Jaipur and trust me I have been to all the places in Jaipur which offer such course. But always the one major concern was the trainers there. One single trainer only taught about everything in Digital Marketing that one must know. But with Digital Vidya, this was not the case as they provide the best trainers who excel in their particular fields and share their experiences and guide us accordingly.
One of the best things about Digital Vidya is that the kind of trainers they have is very hard to find.
How has the course contributed in your career growth including new job opportunities?
Sakshi: The course provided me with various opportunities to learn and explore domains like Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing, SEO etc.
Why do you think it’s important to learn Digital Marketing today?
Sakshi: I think it is very important to learn Digital Marketing today because gone are the days of print media. Now when ever people need information about anything from how to make a cake to how to make an airplane, they Google it. When they want to find any business they Google the company website first; therefore it is very important to learn.
Share about the benefits you can foresee about building a career in Digital Marketing industry.
Sakshi: I think in the coming years, it will become one of the most sought after career and will become very popular amongst the youngest as it is of their interest.
How do you stay updated on the latest trends in Digital Marketing? Which are the Digital Marketing resources (i.e. blogs/websites/apps) you visit regularly?
Sakshi: I regularly visit Digital Vidya’s blog because people write amazing content which is very informative. I also visit MOZ and I follow Neil Patel as he shares some really interesting things about SEO. There are many more resources through which I stay updated.
Which are your favourite 3 digital media channels (e.g. Twitter, Google etc) and why?
Sakshi: My favourite digital media channels are:
1.) YouTube – People upload amazing videos on it which are excellent and knowledgeable as well.
I am a bit lazy sometimes when I read a blog and skip some of the content but because in YouTube there are videos and got to only listen I find it more convenient to listen has it tend to stay in my memory for a long time.
2.) Facebook – I check Facebook at least 3 times a day. It provides me knowledge about what my friends are doing and also what my gurus who’s blogs I follow are doing. I stay updated because of Facebook. Honestly speaking I know about current happenings also from Facebook as I find reading news very boring (my personal opinion).
3.) Google – Last one is Google. I do not think I should even explain why Google.. my answer is because it’s GOOGLE. Nowadays people do not use word “search it out “ they use “Google it “. That enough it think to explain why I love it.
Which are your 3 favorite Digital Marketing Tools?
Sakshi: Tools that I like is Nithy Sir’s favourite Monkey ‘MailChimp’, Google Analytics and SEMrush.

Digital media especially Social media channels such as Facebook can eat up a lot of your productive time if not used wisely. Do you agree? What all can one do to efficiently leverage these channels for personal growth?
Sakshi: That is true I agree completely because I have experienced it before I joined Digital Vidya’s course I used to visit Facebook and spend hours and hours just checking what my friends are doing and playing games. Now I use Facebook to see what are my gurus doing, things about changes taking place in Digital Marketing and I have gained so much . I have studied so many case studies about companies how they are using it. It’s awesome.
If you were given a chance to rebuild your career, what changes you would have made to have even better growth and fulfillment?
Sakshi: Only one change that I should have joined digital marketing a bit before, that’s it.
How do you see Digital Media evolving in future?
Sakshi: Digital media will evolve tremendously in near future as everyday, a new update and/or app(s) are being introduced to make our life easier. There is a lot of scope; one has to be a bit patient to get the fruits of the labour. But even you get it you will be on cloud nine.
