Shubhankar Agnihotri currently works as a senior specialist in HCL Technologies. His profile is basically of a Lead transition member for the transition of mainframe jobs to AutoSys environment. Prior to this, he worked in Cognizant as a Technical Lead. He has worked on analyzing the data generated by the system to reduce the issues along with giving better service to our clients.
What prompted you to learn Data Science & why?
Shubhankar Agnihotri: As we all know that Data is playing one of the most crucial & important roles nowadays.
Previously, I was on the initial stage of learning data science and was working on only a few aspects of it. As I was highly interested in the Data Science domain, I thought of taking my career ahead with Data Science. After conducting a lot of research on various institutes that teach data science, I chose Digital Vidya to take my Data Science career ahead.

Shubhankar Agnihotri: Yes it helped a lot. Generally, we as students are only used to listening and writing down the notes that are given in the class without actually having practical knowledge. The online lab style of teaching was a wonderful experience that helped me in understanding the practical elements quickly. I could easily apply the practical concepts in a real-life scenario. It helped me in getting the hang of the technology and how to work on it.
What kind of help did you receive in doing your assignments?
Shubhankar Agnihotri: Generally, when I used to get stuck with the assignments, I used to put a question regarding that on the Q&A forum. My query was answered within 24 hours and they also made sure to answer the query in the most detailed manner.
How good was your experience in doing the project?
Shubhankar Agnihotri: The final capstone project I have to say was a great one. NLP which is now one of the most demanded fields in data science. I got to work on the problem which opened my mind and broadened my thinking as to how we can use natural language to get the insight to act and help the people as well as the company to make decisions.
Was the placement process organized, did you benefit from it?
Shubhankar Agnihotri: I was not able to attend the placement process till now as after the course completed I was a bit busy with my current organization with some projects. Will try to attend any of the next coming placement processes.

Shubhankar Agnihotri: Of Course. Truly speaking, I have already asked many of my friends who are looking to get into analytics to join Digital Vidya.
