Interview With Rajeev Kumar, SEO Lead Trainer At Digital Vidya

RajeevRajeev Kumar started his career as SEO expert with Olive where he worked for 2 years and then moved on to various assignments based jobs in internet marketing. He later worked as a freelancer for 1.5 years and moved on to take a 2 years experience in Ishir Digital as Senior Internet Marketing Professional (Manager). Further, he switched to a travel giant Makemytrip and worked at that company for 1 year before getting into Consulting assignments with few European and other international firms. All this was clubbed with a Diploma in Cyber Laws which gave him an edge in the industry.

After gaining 1 year experience as a Digital Consultant, he got an opportunity to work with GroupM as Head of SEO where he has been a part of Search team for over 4 years.[spacer]

Digital Vidya: How did you get into Digital Marketing?

Rajeev: You can call me a technology expert by heart or a Programmer. Some 11 years ago, I wanted to learn PHP, but incidentally landed into SEO. After that I have never been able to take the crawler out of my Brain. My sphere of work envelopes SEO, SEM, Analytics along with other aspects of Digital Marketing and Training, and the learnings still continue.[spacer]

Digital Vidya: Why do you think it’s important for entrepreneurs, marketing professionals and students to learn Digital Marketing today?

Rajeev: For students it is mandatory to learn digital because they are the future of the marketing industry. Since more and more brands and companies are exploring their prospects in this industry; hence creating good opportunities for a bright career.

For Marketing Professionals also, it is mandatory because brands all across the world are putting more focus on digital as a medium, so it becomes one of their KPIs to understand and run digital campaigns.

For Entrepreneurs, it is again very important because digital platform is a medium in which ROIs are higher with respect to any other conventional marketing channels. Also measurements of impact of investments in different digital channels like SEM, display, SEO and Analytics is very much possible with the help of tools and software. It helps in the analysis of success and failure of the campaign.[spacer]

Rajeev: When you speak to an audience that is invisible or limitedly visible, then it is very difficult to understand what is going on in the audience’s mind and in that case I design interactive sessions, which prove to be extremely helpful. Such a format for the course flow helps in keeping a momentum accelerated so that people are more engaged with the presentation.[spacer]
