Great Indian Marketing Weekend (GIMW), 2014 is a great opportunity to find clients and agencies along with mentors like CMOs, VPs, and Business Heads under one roof. This event comprised of some great workshops, panel discussions and keynotes.

During the event, there was workshop led by Mr. Rajesh Sawhney, GSF Angels on ‘Marketing To Investors’. Few sharing experience during the workshop were:

  • GSF, fund about 25 young set ups and companies in a year.
  • To prepare start ups and to prepare for VC funding, 15 start ups personally encounter 50 set ups till date.
  • GSF only invested in Technology starts, with global ambitions.
  • Silverpush CDs had around 2 mn$,  Pokkets – completed 3 mn$ funding from Singapore company.
  • To reach out Mr. Rajesh, Angel community, seeds funds, Linkedin, Twitter feed (follow Social media), Angel list profile, create buzz – media presence.
  • Having a business plan with articulations help in keeping the business scenarios transparent and will definitely help in fetching money from investors
  • Investor investing as a ‘syndicate (active and sleeping investors investing together)’ also backing by led investor would help in attract investment.

Hence, this workshop was a great eye opener and had lots of insights on how to market to the investors.

      What is the meaning of “GSF only invested in Technology starts, with global ambitions.” Please explain.

      I wanted to convey the message here that ‘ GSF, angel and seed investing firm, invest only in Technology startups who wants to go global (not restrict themselves in single country)
