Personal Branding: Relevance For A Blogger

Rate this post

For a blogger, their personality drives business. When I deep dived into making 30ish a strong brand my only focus was to build a tribe. You speak their language and believe in their choices. In this highly volatile market followers will stick with you, if they value your aspirational presence in their life.

Empathise and connect are the two most important elements for personal branding. They keep your brand “alive”. Social Media tools are evolving, readers can easily see through a mask. Be original and keep creating.

Blogger’s Survival Kit

Golden Rule

When it comes to blogging, people want to see the real you. They want to see you rejoice, feel fear, confused, stand strong. In short they want to see you vulnerable, only then will they be comfortable investing emotionally. Your aesthetics will guide you to “not over do”, it will be from within, listen to yourself.

Surprise Them

Bloggers have to create variations in content, followers love to be surprised. Monotonous content screams boredom, be careful. I am constantly juggling content between fitness, lifestyle, travel and stories celebrating human spirit. Be dynamic and relevant. A good blogger will never compromise on content.

Create Opportunities

Reach out, make your own opportunities. As bloggers you have to write and talk about your brand passionately. Do not hold yourself back, there’s no right or wrong way. If your gut says go for it then you must. Collaborate with fellow bloggers and entrepreneurs, there’s an ocean of talent around us. Your tribe, will support you.

Power of Images

Spend time clicking the right photograph. I do not compromise on the relevance of an image, it’s the second most important feature after the post title. Images are like a window to your writing, it will lift the quality of your content drastically. This is the reason I invested time and effort to build on my photo blogging offering, it is my brand differentiator.

Reinvent yourself, 30ish has progressively moved into photo blogging, (#photoblogHER) and Vlogging. There’s constant pressure to conform, this will kill your brand in the long run. Be confident and create your own edge. Brands want to be associated with credible bloggers, be authentic and fearless.

Well written post. Personal branding is a long cherished but often less practiced ideal. Extending that to an online presence for a blogger is very useful and relevant. Thank you for sharing this informative advice.
