In developed economies, increasing digitization significantly boosts quality of life. However, in countries with lower levels of economic development, the impact of digitization is less pronounced. Most likely because quality-of-life factors beyond digitization — food, housing, clothing, water, energy, health, and transportation — are in shorter supply and thus more critical. In other words, digitization improves a country’s quality of life only when the basic needs of its population have been met. In more developed economies where basic human needs are more easily met, digitization plays a less pronounced role in expanding access to education, sanitation, water, and healthcare. While digitization — the mass adoption of digital technology through connected services and devices — has proven to accelerate economic growth and facilitate job creation, its impact is not uniform.

In the present day scenario, digitization can play a crucial role in enabling policymakers to spur the economic growth and development. The digitized generation has readily transformed social interactions, facilitated new industries others and reshaped the ability of people to access and leverage the information. The 3rd International Conference ” I-CODE-2015″ – “Digitization Of Economy” organized by the Research & Development Cell of Asian Business School on the 1st of August brought together leading experts from the industry and the conference proved to be an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing experiences and opinions on the Digitization of Economy.
