Keywords are the main drivers for the growth of the Internet. Keywords are useful in the search process. Every search engines are based on keywords. Choosing the right keywords is the heart of your ad campaign. It will be easy for users to find you more quickly if you have picked the right keywords for your campaign. Identifying the most important keywords for your business can help you to successfully market your products and services to your target audiences through online marketing.

To start with, you can create small keywords and then slowly expand and then form groups of keywords. Ads are positioned based on the maximum cost per clicks and keywords.

Steps to choosing the right keywords:

1. Step one is to come up with as many keywords as possible that relates to your online campaign. Think of the words someone would search in the search engine to reach out to your products or services. You can always refine the jotted down keywords later.

2. After choosing relevant keywords, form relevant groups. Form groups which are easy to track. Segregate your keywords. For example, if you are an online florist vendor, place keywords related to organic flowers in one group, and keywords related to artificial flowers in another group.

3. Out of the list of keywords start refining them. Start selecting the most appropriate keywords, two and three keyword phrases works the best. You can always edit and make changes to your keywords and add new keywords.

4. Use Google Adwords to make sure your keywords have enough searches. Keep a check on how your competitors have used keywords.

Google Ad words give you four matching options

      I. Broad Match: In a search engine when your keyword is used as organic flowers, aromatic flowers, fresh flowers, etc.; broad match shows your ad to wider audiences.

II. Phrase Match: Your ad will appear only when the specific keywords are being used in the search engine. Example: “Home décor  flowers” search engine will show your ad only when such keywords are shown, Home décor flowers with fragrance and Home décor flowers bunch.

III. Exact Match: The name defines itself. Your ad on search engine will show only if someone types the exact keyword. Example: Your keywords are Red flowers; your ad will  only show searches for red flowers.

IV. Negative Match: When a person types irrelevant keywords, negative match will prevent your ad from showing on the search page. You can avoid keywords like cheap flowers by putting a negative (-) sign.

 Tips:

1. Keep a track of your keywords performance. With the help of Google ad words you can monitor the status of your keywords. It shows the word “Active” which means your keyword is appropriate to appear on search engine result pages. Modify your keywords to increase your quality score.

2. Promote your ad in the specific sites where audiences are most active. Hence, you will be aware of the keywords typed by them to reach your products and services.

3. Remember to keep your cost per click rate (CPC) at the maximum bid so that your keywords will be active for search in the search engine result pages (SERP).

4. After you select the right keywords, make sure your website has quality content on the landing page to increase your site’s conversion rates.  Write your content focusing on your target audiences.

5. Pick for the right keywords by placing yourself in the target audiences place. Knowing the demands of your audiences will be easier for you to jot down ample of keywords and later edit or add few more keywords.

Key Words form the key in SEM. They make/break the business for any organization. Choosing the right key words will bring in more hot leads, lessen the sales cycle and bring in more revenue.

Great Tips for keyword selection. Negative matches can be one of the most effective ways to reduce the pay per click expenditure for businesses since it won’t expose the ad to the non-targeted customers. Moreover, it improves the Click through rate and conversion rate by landing only the targeted customers on the business website. With an extensive and relevant keyword list, it is equally important to have an appropriate negative keyword list ready with you.
