State Road Transport Authority in Telangana is all geared up to whip the traffic violators through the newly launched mobile app. If there are any pending challans or any other documents related to your vehicle, then the mobile app developed for android phone will trace and uncover very soon.

After entering a vehicle’s number, just at a click of a button, besides the basic details, other minute details such as fitness validity, permit type, registered owner’s mobile number can be viewed on the enforcement personnel’s android phone.

Here is what a senior RTA official had to say:

“Even our website does not show as many details as the app does. It was developed for integration of records and to make things easier during enforcement. “We will be sharing the app with the police officials as well. The app was developed in-house by our own people. As of now it is available only for android phones, because to make one for Apple and Microsoft, software requires seeking additional licenses”

The new mobile app was a part of Telangana government’s e-governance, said B. Venkateswarulu, Joint Transport Commissioner, RTA. Ideally, the prime concept behind developing the mobile app was –‘office on mobile’ that would enable the RTA officials, particularly the enforcement officers to obtain the pending challan information. Moreover, the mobile app that supports android phones was created keeping in view the fact that almost every individual possesses an android phone these days.

This initiative has not only benefited RTA department officials but has also relieved police officials as the latter will be able to access data pertaining to traffic violators through a real-time web-based programme. This web-based programme which was developed after a meeting held with the Chief Minister of the state and other police officials will allow the cops to not only check pending e-challans but also verify violators’ addresses.

As per a senior RTA official, this web-based programme was propagated primarily to avoid the problem of tracing vehicle owners who would sell off their vehicles that were involved in crime-related offences. But now, there is no chance for the traffic violators to escape and they need to be extremely cautious and beware.

Do you wish to know how to create a mobile app? You can readily do so by acquainting yourself with the knowledge through the mobile marketing certification programme.
