(ii) Facebook – You can find all segments of people there and is one of the best social media platforms.
(iii) Linkedin – It is a purely corporate platform, You can find a mature & educated audience here. You can also post your articles here and create a brand page.

What is your advice to newbies who want to build a career in Digital Marketing?

Md Jafri: Firstly, welcome to the Digital Marketing world. If you want to build a career in Digital Marketing, you need to have a habit of constant learning. Keep practising what you have learnt. Follow some of the good digital marketing specialist blogs like Harsh Agarwal, Ankit Singhla, Neil Patel, Brian, Moz, HubSpot, Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal and Digital Vidya. Start own blog on WordPress and implement all ideas on that. Also, run Google & Facebook Ads for better understanding.

What are the challenges a person is likely to face when s/he enters into the Digital Marketing industry? How can s/he overcome those?

Md Jafri:  I don’t know what others can face. What I felt, I must tell you the solution.

For someone who’s looking at full time or part time job or an internship in Digital Marketing, what approach would you advice?

Md Jafri: First talk to Digital Vidya’s Placement Cell. Update your profile in Linkedin. Also apply through websites like Naukri, Shine, Monster etc. Have patience but keep learning.

Digital media especially Social media channels such as Facebook can eat up a lot of your productive time if not used wisely. Do you agree? What all can one do to efficiently leverage these channels for personal growth?

Md Jafri: Yes, it is right. If not used wisely Facebook & other social media platforms will not let you do other work. But try to use the social media platforms optimally and from a marketer’s perspective. A marketer should go only three sections on Facebook which are Facebook Ads, Groups and Page. Also, you should observe your competitors on social media.

If you were given a chance to rebuild your career, what changes you would have made to have even better growth and fulfilment?

Md Jafri: I would have done a Digital Marketing Course long ago!

How do you see Digital Media evolving in future?

Md Jafri: See, more or less all companies are understanding the value of Digital Media Marketing. They all want to adopt it but only a few of it have used it so far optimally. By the way, those businesses which used the power of Digital Marketing are industry leaders now. Obviously, Digital Marketing is already in high demand these days.
