Afreen was a student when she chose Digital Marketing as an add on skill for herself and she was working as an office admin. So when she was searching for a new job she saw a lot of boom for Digital Marketers in the industry.  She thought it would be great if she’ll go with this new thing. Since the use of digital platforms has increased but it gives you immense knowledge of how to utilize it properly.

Mir: Which course of Digital Vidya you participated in? How did it help you acquire new skills related to digital marketing?

Afreen: I had chosen the CDMM course which had covered the whole modules and topics of Digital Marketing. I was thinking to choose only SMM but then I thought it would be great to learn the whole process of it. Then I have started my own Food blog account on Instagram which is doing well but needs more patience and consistency in this field to grow.

Mir: Why did you choose Digital Vidya’s course?

Afreen: I did a lot of research I have been to many demo classes of other institutes in my city. But I didn’t find it good enough. According to the search algorithm in Google, Digital Vidya was showing among the topmost institutes of India. I was willing to do it from the best institute where the faculty have good knowledge and hands-on experience in this field which the DV has.

Afreen: I’m not doing the job in this related field but soon I’ll be starting my own business then this course will surely help me to reach my audience in the market.

Afreen: No doubt everything is digital today our lives are all surrounded by digital media but learning makes you follow the right path in this field and perfection will come on when you experience it daily.

Afreen: If you have your own business startup or looking for something new in which you can work be in any part of the world this is not something you’ve to be in office 9 to 6. Digital Marketing does not consist of only one thing it is segmented you can choose any one in which you feel you’re pro and comfortable like SEM, SMM, SEO, email marketing.

Mir: How do you stay updated on the latest trends in Digital Marketing? Which are the Digital Marketing resources (i.e. blogs/websites/apps) you visit regularly?

Afreen: Some Digital Marketing blogs and webinars.

Mir: Which are your favorite 3 digital media channels (e.g. Twitter, Google, etc) and why?

Afreen: Here are my three favorite Digital Media Channels:

(i) Instagram – It chooses the demographic accordingly I don’t need to do it on my own and it helps to reach the audience by relatable hashtags.

(ii) Google – It helps me in making local ads and shops I can spend accordingly and can target my audience and locations where it will work best.

(iii) YouTube – better for creating the video ads and showcasing my store in a better way without building a website I attract my audience this way.

Mir: Which are your 3 favorite Digital Marketing Tools?

Afreen: Hootsuite, Google Analytics and Hubspot

Mir: What is your advice to newbies who want to build a career in Digital Marketing?

Afreen: Whatever you choose never regret after choosing it because you’re learning something new. It will help you grow your own business if doing a job you have several opportunities. No field has a handsome amount in the starting but with consistency, you’ll get salary and experience both.

Mir: What are the challenges a person is likely to face when s/he enters into the Digital Marketing industry? How can s/he overcome those?

Afreen: Everyone is already in the market competition is very high it’s not easy that you’ll be served with the job after completion of the course, it’s up to you choosing the correct one for yourself working smart because everyone works hard you need to be smart.

Mir: For someone who’s looking at a full time or part-time job or an internship in Digital Marketing, what approach would you advise?

Mir: Digital media especially Social media channels such as Facebook can eat up a lot of your productive time if not used wisely. Do you agree? What can one do to efficiently leverage these channels for personal growth?

Afreen: Yes, if you’re using it for entertainment go ahead but turn your entertainment in quality time by selling and promoting your business on such social media platforms.

Mir: How do you see Digital Media evolving in the future?

Afreen: Future can’t be predicted but if you say so I guess we’ll keep on learning new things because every day new technologies and techniques come up in the market presently everyone is digitalized by different means.

Mir: Would you like to share a few words about the work we are doing at Digital Vidya in educating others about Digital Marketing?

Afreen: I would say Digital Vidya provides amazing education by knowledgeable faculties, good coordination team, coordinator are always helpful and available to solve the candidates’ problems. The journey was amazing and good.
